Ricardo Miranda edt. Award – Invention Editing (short and feature)

For the fourth consecutive year, edt. – Audiovisual Editing Professionals Association of Rio de Janeiro – will award the editing of films of the Semana Film Festival. The award was created in 2014 as a tribute to Ricardo Miranda, who was not only a great editor and teacher, but also a master for numerous professionals who continue to develop his ideas on film editing. Reflecting on this important stage on the making of a film, edt. will have this year a jury consisting of Eva Randolph, Karen Harley and Fernando Vidor.

Eva Randolph

She edited more than 15 short and 10 feature films. The films in which she has worked on have participated in national and international festivals, such as: Festival de Brasília, Festival de Gramado, Festival do Rio, Janela Inernacional de Cinema do Recife, Berlinale, Locarno Film Festival, Roterdam Film Festival, Tribeca, BAFICI, among others. She also directed the short films Dez elefantes, Menino peixe, O bom comportamento and Não me prometa nada.


Fernando Vidor

He has been working as an editor since 1997. He has collaborated with directors such as Walter Salles Jr., José Joffily and Ana Maria Magalhães. He taught editing theory at the Escola de Cinema Darcy Ribeiro. He is currently vice-president of edt., the Brazilian Association of Audiovisual Editing Professionals.


Karen Harley

Editor and documentary filmmaker. She co-directed the feature Waste Land and the shorts Com o oceano inteiro para nadar, Nós pescando o tempo and Comfundo.
